Embarcadero Systems Corp. Opens Office in Rotterdam

ALAMEDA, CA - November 9, 2005 - Embarcadero Systems Corp. (ESC), a global provider of innovative transportation technology solutions, solidifies its operations in Europe by opening a large project office in Rotterdam, making a total of four offices to better serve its European clients.

The new office, located at Seattleweg 17, Portnumber 2801, 3195 ND, Rotterdam-Pernis in the Netherlands, will house approximately 40 personnel to supply project management, technical and business consultancy, technical support, quality assurance, sales and marketing services.

ESC Vice President of Professional Services Mike Medcalfe expanded upon the importance of the Rotterdam presence.

"Establishing such a significant center of operations in one of the key European ports reflects our commitment to supporting our customers in their endeavors to implement enabling technology in their terminal operations,"  Medcalfe said. "The opportunities to improve terminal automation are apparent to everyone involved in the industry. However, the historic challenge of implementing any new technology successfully remains a major concern to everyone as well. At ESC, we believe that we can be the difference between successful and unsuccessful implementations as well as ongoing support."

Recently, ESC was awarded the role of prime contractor for a consortium to provide the Terminal Operating System (TOS), CATOS, and Equipment Control System (ECS) for Euromax Terminal NV in Rotterdam, a joint venture between Europe Container Terminals (ECT) and APMT (formerly P&O Nedlloyd).

ESC's other European offices are located in Marseille, France; Munich, Germany; and Bracknell, U.K.

For more than 25 years, ESC has been developing, integrating, and deploying transportation technology systems and solutions that enhance, automate and secure maritime and multimodal transportation operations for virtually every vertical, including ocean, rail, multimodal, breakbulk, trucking, and automotive terminals. These solutions concentrate on three main logistics functions: Terminal Automation, Transportation Security, and Finished Vehicle Logistics. Its family of products includes VinTelligent that optimizes vehicle handling; smartGATE™ for gate automation and facility security; VoyagerTrack® that provides cargo tracking and visibility; Premier Appointment System™ to improve gate efficiency and trucker scheduling; webTAMS® for real-time steamship cargo management and status; CATOS for highly integrated marine and intermodal terminal management and operations; and ESC smartLOG, a data logging and surveillance System.
