Embarcadero Systems Corp. Launches VinTelligent 3.1 with the New VinInsight Module

ALAMEDA, CA - September 23, 2005 - Embarcadero Systems Corp. (ESC), a leader in innovative technology solutions for the global maritime and multimodal transportation industry, has announced the latest release of VinTelligent (3.1), which includes the much-anticipated VinInsight module that provides Web-based vehicle visibility.

VinTelligent, the leading automotive yard management system, currently handles one in three vehicles sold in the United States. Its new module, VinInsight, will allow cross-terminal visibility to terminal managers, carriers and OEM customers across VinTelligent-equipped terminals. This leap forward in functionality provides a safe and secure mechanism that allows all parties to collaborate over the Internet. For vehicle manufacturers, this represents advancement of real-time inventory visibility across their supply chain. It eliminates the need to contact individual terminals or await weekly reports and gives valuable up-to-the-minute information to logistics planners. With current information at their fingertips, planners can more effectively manage their distribution networks.

“The market has demanded visibility, and ESC VinTelligent delivers,” said Pilar Dieter, director of product management. “The new VinInsight module provides a robust feature that has been highly sought after by OEMs, carriers and terminal operators. This enhanced visibility enables a cross-collaborative solution for these stakeholders throughout the finished vehicle distribution network.”

Some of the largest transporters of finished vehicles, including rail operators and yard managers, have deployed VinTelligent, resulting in increased visibility and measurable cost savings.
